My Planner Font: A Playful Typographic Solution for Branding

I was recently tasked with creating a visual identity for a small, locally-owned boutique that sells handmade stationery and journals. The client wanted something warm, inviting, and reflective of the creativity and craftsmanship behind their products. As I opened my brand board and started sketching out ideas, I knew I needed a typeface that could carry the personality of the brand while also being versatile enough to work across multiple design assets.

A Type That Speaks Volumes

That’s when I came across My Planner. At first glance, it felt like a font that had been designed with intention—each letter has a playful yet refined structure that feels both modern and nostalgic. It's not just any script font; it's a typeface that brings a sense of charm and approachability to whatever it's used for. The curves are soft, the serifs are gentle, and there's an overall feeling of warmth that makes it ideal for a brand that values creativity and personal connection.

I immediately thought of how this font could be used in logo design. Its rounded edges and flowing lines made it feel perfect for a name that needed to feel friendly and welcoming. I tested it on a few mockups, pairing it with a sans-serif font for contrast, and found that it worked beautifully as a headline font without overwhelming the rest of the design.

From Logo to Packaging

As I developed the brand system, I began to see how My Planner could be applied across different touchpoints. For the logo, I used it as the primary typeface, ensuring that it stood out on business cards and signage. On product packaging, I paired it with a clean sans-serif font to balance the playful nature of the main typeface with clarity and professionalism.

One of the most interesting applications was on the product labels. The font’s readability at smaller sizes made it a great choice for tags and stickers. I even used it in social media graphics, where its visual appeal helped draw attention to key messages without distracting from the content.

What I particularly appreciated about My Planner was its versatility. It wasn’t just a font for one specific use case—it could be used as a display font, headline font, or even as an accent font in a larger typographic system. This flexibility made it a valuable asset in a project that required consistency across multiple platforms.

Typography That Builds Trust

When designing for a brand, typography plays a crucial role in shaping perception. My Planner helped convey the right tone—friendly, professional, and trustworthy. Its soft curves and balanced proportions gave the brand a sense of approachability, which is essential for a boutique that wants to connect with its customers on a personal level.

Testing the font early on was key. I created several variations of the logo and packaging, experimenting with different weights and styles to ensure that the typeface would work well in all contexts. I also checked for readability in different formats, including print and digital, to make sure it would perform consistently across all materials.

One thing I noticed was how My Planner looked in real-world settings. On a shop sign, it felt lively and engaging. On a business card, it added a touch of elegance without being too formal. And on a website header, it brought a sense of warmth that complemented the brand’s overall aesthetic.

Pairing with Confidence

While My Planner is a standout on its own, I also considered how it would pair with other fonts. For the body text, I chose a simple sans-serif font to maintain readability and provide a clean contrast. In editorial design, I used it alongside a modern script font to create a cohesive yet dynamic look.

I also explored how it might work with other typefaces in the Script Amp category. While it’s not a traditional script font, its playful character made it a natural fit for projects that require a bit of whimsy. I found that it worked especially well with handwritten fonts, adding a layer of personality without overpowering the design.

Designing with Purpose

Throughout the project, I kept coming back to My Planner because of its ability to adapt and enhance the brand’s visual identity. Whether it was on a product label, a social media post, or a printed flyer, the font consistently delivered the right message with the right tone.

For designers looking to create a strong brand identity, I recommend testing fonts like My Planner early in the process. It’s important to consider how the font will look in different contexts and how it contributes to the overall brand voice. A font can make or break a design, so choosing the right one is a critical step in the creative process.

In the end, My Planner proved to be more than just a typeface—it became a key element of the brand’s personality. It helped tell the story of the boutique in a way that was both visually appealing and emotionally resonant. If you’re working on a branding project that needs a touch of playfulness and professionalism, I highly recommend giving My Planner a try.
